Monday, 5-10-09 (Day 1) & Tuesday, 6-10-09 (Day 2):
8.50pm left school and headed for singapore and malaysia customs. Cleared the customs by 9.50pm, changed to malaysia bus, met our tour guide and we were off to penang. First rest stop is after a 100km drive from the custom. After 30mins, we head back to the journey. Nearly left w/o Clarence and JunCheng at the rest stop coz they went toilet and never tell us. Continue for another 2 to 3hrs of bus ride then stop the second time for toilet break. Then continue for another 580km to penang. First stop wasw pass the malaysia bridge. Its a long bridge linking the mainland of peninsular malaysia. Breakfast was macdonalds at "Gurney Plaza". Breakfast was a bad start of the day. The busrger ii ate was half salty and the other not. Ice milo was oso damn diluted. After breakfast was raining therefore the plan has changed. Went to "Kek Lok Si temple". Then me, ChinSan, JinPeng, JunQi, Terence, YiFeng, ZhengHao spent RM 4 and took a tram up the mountain to take a glance at the 30.2m high of the guanying statue. We each donated RM10 to buy a roof tile, that will be placed on the roof covering the guanying statue when it was built finish. We wrote our names on it too as an indication. Then down the montain on the tram agin and went to the "Pagoda of ten thousand buddha". Spent RM 2 for entrance fees. Thr's oni me, Terence and YiFeng.We climbed the stairs all the way up to the 4th storey. From there, we can see the entire temple orady, but we can still climb higher to see the whole penang but we dun have the energy. So snap afew pictures and went down to assemble. Then bck to "Gurney Plaza" for some shopping as it was still raining. Saw some shirts that ii wanna buy but the price is very "CHEAP".. Range frm RM 79 to RM 109, convert to singapore cash its abt S$39.50 to S$54.54. Abt 12noon was suppose to assemble bck at bus. But i'm kinda hungry orady not knowing nxt stop is lunch, me, YiFeng and JinPeng bought food to eat. XXL chicken sold for RM3 which is S$1.50. Ate it. Then assemble and short drive to a nearby resturaunt for lunch. First time eating at penang resturaunt. Serving was whao!! A table of ten abt 15 dishes were served. That's alot. Eat till everyone was bloated. Afterthat bus to penang hill. Took tram up to the first half of the hill, then switch tram up to the second part up the hill. It was a long and steep journey, so the tram was travelling damn slooow.. At the top, the air was cooling and we were few hundred meters above sea level. Frm up thr we were able to spot the malaysia bridge. Spent abt an hour then tram back dwn again. Dinner at another local resturaunt then bck to hotel. Hotel we stayed in was "Berjaya Georgetown Hotel Penang, Malaysia". In malaysia there are such rules that for tourists who wanna check into hotel, can oni do so after 3pm. My room-mate was YiFeng. And guess what my room was connected to Fizrin and Arif's room. Therefore when we open the center door connecting the two rooms, we can have fun. Our room is located at the 22 level out of 29 levels that the hotel has. Bath and was out with YiFeng, ZhengHao, Clarence, JunCheng, JunQi, ChinSan, JinPeng & Terence for supper. Went to the coffeeshop nxt to "Gurney Plaza". Ate 'char kwey teow', nice! Then bck to hotel at 10.30pm. The rest bought carlsberg to JunCheng's room to drink and play poker while me and YiFeng head bck to out room and slept.
Wednesday, 7-10-09 (Day 3):
Morning call at 7am, breakfast at 8am then assemble at lobby at 9am. First stop "The Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion". Its a blue temple. When we enter, the owner told us that no photo taking is allowed coz they wanna preserve the history of the builking as long as possible. Get to know abt the symetrical design of the temple shaped house. And how they preserve the house from the past till now. There's a story that the first owner to bought this hse over made the house looks old so thet when his next generation took over the house, they won't sell the house just to have money. Coz for nowadays people buy hse they wanna take over a new hse but not an old one. As old have lots of renovations and building to do. That will spent lots of cash. Therefore the owner made the hse look old in-order not to allow the next generation to sell away the hse. Next stop was "Pinang Peranakan Mansion". Singapore's 'Little Nonya' show was filmed there as well. Took lots of pictures thr. Lunch at a local resturaunt. Had fish and chips..YUMMY!! Third stop was "Rumah P.Ramlee house". His house was built afew inches off the ground as in the past, houses are built like this to avoid wild animals, snakes of flood to enter the house. Spent few minutes there, took class photo and left. Went to a local product shop. Went to buy chocolates with fruits in it and 'dou sha bing'.. Then to "Queensbay Mall" for shopping. The shopping mall was like vivo city, that big. Then 6.30pm, bus to a roadside coffeeshop next to "Gurney Plaza" for dinner. Then back to hotel. Bath and had nth to do. So Fizrin came over to our room and then YiFeng decided to prank call some of the rooms. He called ZhengHao's room, but he was clever, he knew it was YiFeng! Then nxt we cor JunCheng's room. He was tricked..he believed whatever we ask and told him. Me, YiFeng and Fizrin were laughing like mad. YiFeng call and said this: '..hello, may ii look for ChanJinPeng..' JunCheng: '..he's not here, he's in another room..' YiFeng:' when will he be back?..' JunCheng: '..ii dunno but he is not in this room now..' Then we started laughing and told JunCheng the truth. Went down to play pool after awhile. Saw our singapore tour leader sitting thr drinking. Went over to say hi then she joined me and YiFeng to play pool. 1 game, RM 3.. After pool bought vodka bck to the room and drink. Clarence called shortly after asking if we wanna play cards, agreed and went to JunCheng room to play. Play, drink and joke. Bck to own room abt 2am in the morning and slept.
Thursday, 8-10-09 (Day 4):
Woke up at 6.30am, bath and stuff then down to function room at level 2 to have breakfast. After breakfast went up to room 2914 to find ChinSan, Terence and JunQi. They just woke up. They were nearly late. Half an hour more to assemble and they have yet had thier breakfast. At 8.30am went down to assemble. First visit was "Khoo Kongsi the heritage jewel of penang". Its a temple that belongs to the Khoo people. Learnt abt the special features and the history of the people who lives thr and the building. Took class photo before leaving for next location. Next was "Syed Alatas Mansion". Its a penang islamic museum. Shows abt the past how penang work, creates things and the past of it. Then walk over to "Sri MariammanTemple". Its the oldest hindu temple built in 1883. Went in w/o shoes then Murnali began praying. Then everyone stood there and watched her. After knowing abt the temple, was asked to go little india. Everyone knws that little india had nth to walk so we told teacher that hald an hour is enough for freetime, but Murnali insisted an hour. And the tour guide gave an hour. Everyone was mad. The usual number of us went to munch at a coffeeshop till 12pm then met bck at bus and all went for lunch at a local resturaunt. Had nonya delicacies. Ate some oni coz mostly are spicy. After lunch headed to botanicle garden. Over there, oni MrsTan, tour guide, tour leader and Jude went down to take a look while the rest of the class some were tired, slping watching video that the bus driver on for us to watch. Thanks! An hour later they return and we head back to the hotel to rest. At 6pm all of us gather then off to a indian resturaunt for dinner. The food thr really sucks. Mostly of us dint even eat coz its so not nice. We oni kept drinking and drinking then stack up the cups. After dinner was off to pasamalam. Bought the things ii wan then abt 9.45pm head back to bus. Then a drama begins. '..Murnali went missing and Khabir was so worried abt her that he went down the bus to look for her. But who knws, Khabir just went to find her and she came bck. Then everyone was making noise..' Waited for our hero to come bck. When Khabir step into the bus, everyone clapped hands. Thesn someone shouted 'Romeo & Juliet'..lols!! Bck to hotel to pack laggauge. Then went down abt 12am to play pool with JingJia, RuiEn, EeLing, YiFeng and tour leader. Played till 1am plus and went up to rest.
Friday, 9-10-09 (Day 5):
Woke up at 6.34am, took a nice bath then woke YiFeng up. Packed then at 7.20am went down to level 2 to have breakfast. After breakfast rush out of hotel to buy 2 bottels of chewing gum. Back top hotel room to retrive our lagguage then to lobby to assemble. Bus set off at 8.20am, and we're on our way back to singapore. Lunch was at a local resturaunt, it was also our last meal in penang! After lunch was back on the road. Inbetween we had some rest stops for toilet break and some snacks. Abt 7.30pm we reach malaysia immigration checkpoint then headed to singapore customs after that. Msg baby the moment ii reach singapore. Finish at 8.20pm, dad cor. Told him the bus number, and he say he try to wait outside the custom see if he can spot the bus coming out or not. And when we exited the custom, my dad's car was orady there, so he followed the bus until the bus stop near tang dynasty thr. abt 15 of us alighted thr and the rest alighted at sch. Dad gave Terence and JinPeng a ride home as its kinda late and we were all shag out. After that went to serangoon inter to pick mum up and home. Reached home, bath, eat, and slept!^^
